Professor Dr. Farouk Hassan is the head of the INR team at Cairo University Hospital and the Founder and Head of the Egyptian Board of Neuro-intervention. He serves as Secretary General of the Middle-East and North Africa Stroke and Interventional Neuro-therapy Organization (MENA-SINO) and has served as president of its yearly conference over several years.
He received fellowship training in France (2007–2009), a Diploma of Neuro-intervention from Paris-Descartes University (2009), AFSA specialty training from Lille University (2009), and completed the European Course in Minimally Invasive Neuro-interventional Therapy (ECMINT) from Oxford, UK (2017).
He heads the National Program for Elimination of Neuro-intervention Wait-lists, trains fellows from across the region annually, and supervises master's and PhD theses from candidates across 14 different universities.
