Provides patient care in a hospital setting to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions. Must
be experienced in interpretation of diagnostic radiological studies generated in general radiology,
Emergency Radiology and Ultrasonography Makes and interprets diagnostic images; performs special
procedures.
Reviews requests for x-ray, ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) and other diagnostic imaging procedures, and determines applicability of requested procedures.
Interview patients as necessary, and records supplementary data. Instructs radiological personnel in desired techniques, positions, and projections.
Interprets images and confers with consultant radiologist regarding diagnoses of cases.
Prepares comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.
Performs imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy, tomography, and ultrasound.
Shares in performance of special imaging procedures including angiography, computed tomography, MRI and MRA, with limitations of available resources and expertise.
Determines need for referral of cases that are not within local capability.
Interprets procedures and prepares comprehensive interpretive report of findings.
Coordinates radiological services with other medical activities
Supervise the Junior Staff in conducting their duties and responsibilities as designated by the department.
Assures adequate quality control of images.
Participates in the delivery of graduate medical education in radiology. Serves as consultant in radiology
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBBCh), followed by a master’s degree in a relevant medical specialty.
At least 5 years of experience with broad knowledge of his/her area of specialty and hospital or healthcare administration including policies, procedures, and standard medical practices applicable to area of specialization. Thorough knowledge of medical and professional ethics.
