Overview

The Pediatric Medical Unit is dedicated to the medical management of gastrointestinal and nutritional disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. The unit provides family-centered care through early diagnosis, tailored medical therapies, and continuous monitoring for congenital, autoimmune, and chronic digestive conditions, with a strong emphasis on growth, development, and quality of life.


Scope of the Unit

This unit focuses on the evaluation and medical treatment of digestive and nutritional conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. Care extends to congenital and inherited disorders, long-standing inflammatory diseases, and feeding or absorption challenges, with an emphasis on developmental monitoring, tailored therapies, and continuous family engagement.

What We Treat

Family-centered medical care for congenital, hereditary, and chronic digestive conditions in children, with a focus on early diagnosis, growth, and long-term health.

  • Covers neonates (0–28 days), pediatrics (1 month–13 years), adolescents (13-18 years).
  • Congenital GI and hepatobiliary disorders.
  • Pediatric liver diseases: neonatal cholestasis, biliary atresia, autoimmune hepatitis, acute/chronic liver failure, cirrhosis, metabolic liver disease.
  • Pediatric GI conditions: GERD, esophageal strictures, dysphagia, gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastroenteritis, food allergy, intolerance, celiac disease, chronic diarrhea, malabsorption, pediatric IBD (Crohn’s, UC).
  • Nutritional support: TPN and enteral feeding for neonates and children.
