Professor Ahmed Mohamed Mukhtar is Professor and Consultant of Anesthesia and Intensive Care with more than 20 years of experience. He currently directs a 50-bed surgical and trauma ICU, specializing in perioperative management, liver transplantation anesthesia (over 2,000 adult and 300 pediatric cases), cardiac anesthesia, and advanced echocardiography.
He earned his MSc and MD in Anesthesia from Cairo University, a Professional Certificate in Transesophageal Echocardiography from the European Society of Echocardiography, a Master’s in Clinical Research from the University of Liverpool, and a Diploma in Biomedical Statistics from Newcastle University.
Professor Mukhtar is a Mentor for Focused Intensive Care Echocardiography (FICE), Intensive Care Society UK, and an active member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the European Society of Critical Care. With 74 publications, 2,490 citations, and an h-index of 24, he has significantly advanced research and clinical practice in critical care and liver transplant anesthesia.
