Dr. Amir Anwar Shaker Samaan, MSc, MD, MRCP (UK), is a Consultant of Interventional Cardiology, and Director of the Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) Program at Al Nas Hospital. He also serves as an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Kasr Alainy Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.
He has a distinguished interest in complex coronary interventions, particularly chronic total occlusions and heavily calcified coronary lesions. He is also recognized as an expert in balloon mitral valvuloplasty.
Dr. Amir earned his Master’s degree in Cardiovascular Medicine from Cairo University in 2011, followed by a Doctorate degree in 2016. In 2017, he was awarded the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (London, UK) and later pursued a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Aswan Heart Centre (Magdi Yacoub Foundation) between 2017 and 2018.
Throughout his career, he has held several key positions. In addition to his current role as Associate Professor of Cardiology at Cairo University, he previously worked as a Consultant of Interventional Cardiology at Aswan Heart Centre and served as the Director of the Cardiac Care Unit at Dar Al Fouad Hospital, Nasr City.
