Cairo University organized a field visit to Al Nas Hospital with the participation of a group of university students as part of activating the “Athar” platform, which aims to expand volunteer work and connect students with humanitarian initiatives that create direct community impact.
The visit was attended by Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University, and Dr. Mohamed Refaat, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. The delegation toured several hospital departments and treatment units, including the Burn Unit, while reviewing the hospital’s advanced medical services, modern equipment, and highly qualified medical and nursing staff.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek praised Al Nas Hospital as a distinguished example of institutional charitable work in Egypt, emphasizing that the hospital successfully combines medical excellence with a humanitarian mission, while playing a significant role in alleviating patients’ suffering, especially children.
He added that the visit comes within the framework of activating the “Athar” platform, which seeks to organize student participation in volunteer and community service activities while documenting these efforts through accredited community service hours that help enhance students’ social awareness and sense of responsibility.
During the visit, the university delegation and participating students engaged directly with patients, particularly children, offering emotional and psychological support through gift distribution activities in a warm humanitarian atmosphere reflecting solidarity and compassion.
The President of Cairo University also noted that the coming period will witness stronger cooperation with Al Nas Hospital through benefiting from the distinguished medical and nursing expertise of Kasr Al Ainy Faculty of Medicine, aiming to further enhance healthcare quality and develop the medical care system.
The university delegation was welcomed by Engineer Ayman Mamdouh Abbas, Hatem El Molla, and Dr. Mahmoud El Shazly.
