Dr. Kareem Essam Eldin Hadad Ahmed is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Cairo University, where he has been working at the El Ebrashi GIT Endoscopy Unit since 2010. He also serves as a consultant in gastroenterology and endoscopy at Kasr El Ainy French Hospital since 2013.

Dr. Kareem has over 15 years of experience in gastroenterology, with advanced expertise in endoscopic procedures including POEM (peroral endoscopic myotomy) for achalasia and ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection) for early gastric and colorectal cancers, which he has been performing since 2018.

He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Cairo University with honors in 2004, his Master’s degree in 2010, and his MD in Internal Medicine in 2013. He also passed the MRCP (UK) parts 1 and 2 in 2017–2018. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively in internal medicine, hepatology ICU, and emergency medicine, and progressed from resident to lecturer before being appointed Assistant Professor in 2019.
