Prof. Shaimaa ElKholy is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, and Consultant of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at As-Salam International Hospital. She also serves as Consultant of GIT Endoscopy at Al-Nas Hospital.
She earned her MD in Internal Medicine with subspecialty in Hepatology and Gastroenterology from Cairo University and obtained MRCP (UK) along with the Specialty Certificate in Gastroenterology from the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom. Her academic research has focused on liver cirrhosis and post–liver transplant outcomes.
Prof. ElKholy has extensive expertise in advanced gastrointestinal endoscopy, including ESD, ERCP, EUS, and POEM. She completed specialized international training in the Netherlands, Austria, and China, and is an active member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) and the Egyptian Society for the Study of Liver Diseases.
